Revenge Fantasies is a series born from the intrusive, often grim thoughts that can follow in the wake of sexual assault—visions that are rarely spoken aloud yet quietly shape the emotional landscape of survival. People I’ve spoken to describe initial shame or confusion when these revenge fantasies surface, only to find, upon opening up to others, that such thoughts are far more common than expected. What begins in secrecy often becomes a point of recognition: an acknowledgment that these imagined responses are not moral failures, but reflections of the depth and complexity of trauma. By bringing these fantasies forward through ceramic dinner platters, this series aims to confront viewers with the weight of these internal experiences and shed light on how profoundly sexual violence can echo through a person’s inner world. The titles honor the specific voices behind each piece, offering solidarity to those who may recognize their own thoughts mirrored here and reminding them that they are not alone.
